My focus for smaller grammatical errors I could fix was the idea of the semicolon (;), I had previously struggled with common splices or fused sentences. So, this essay I had focused on my sentence level issues that would require a semicolon. Another MLA focus on mine this project was the citations. I had used Little Seagull to assist me in created my works cited page, and also referred to that book for in-text citations. I had previously included the date of publication for all in-text citations with the authors name, now I know that is not the correct format for follow, according to MLA. Using Little Seagull and the lesson in class I had adjusted my in-text citations to fit the proper requirements based off what type of source I was using. Having these issues be a focus of my writing had advanced my project and allowed me to get a better understanding of grammatical issues in my writing as well as a better understanding for MLA, all advancing my learning of course objectives.
