Peer Review #3

This round of peer review was not the most helpful for me. Although I enjoyed working with my own group that I created, I did not enjoy creating our own guidelines while editing. I liked working with the guidelines provided by Professor Gennaco because they encouraged the peer reviewers to critique your work, not just mark where you included certain things. Most of the comments I found I was including a lot of, and was receiving a lot of was just highlighting where I included the “they say” and “I say”, rather than critiquing the work. My group also decreased the amount of comments we should make, so for my longest written essay so far I have received the least amount of comments. I enjoyed following the guidelines we used before because they highlighted a variety of things and encouraged peer reviewers to critique the writing. One thing I would add the those guidelines would be a sections on integration of sources. That was one category my group added that I found to be helpful. It allowed me to understand if I had incorporated sources correctly or not based off the comments included. Overall, I would have preferred to use the original guidelines, but peer reviewing did help me adjust my essay in necessary ways.
