Reflection on Peer Review Skills

My first peer review was for Grace Perron, on her essay on higher education. Looking back on the comments I made, I realized how much I progressed throughout the semester while editing others work. On Grace’s paper I made a total of two comments, one was about the format of the title, which I now know my comment was telling her incorrect information, and an end comment telling her how good her essay was. At the beginning of the semester I was nervous to tell people issues within their writing or ways to develop. Now I am able to provide suggestions to my peer reviewers on their essay, critique their writing to make it better for them, and identify sentence-level issues as well as developmental issues. I am now more informed on MLA formatting so I can tell others the proper way on how things should look in order for them to get full points on their essay. I have come a long way in editing essay and identifying areas of improvement in other writing. Now that I can identify these issues within others writing, I can identify it within mine as well. I will continue using these critiquing skills within my own writing to identify where I can develop more claims, sentence-level issues, and other punctuation issues. This skill will continue to assist me in my writing and will advance my papers in the proper way following this course.
